(Correspondent: Liu Yuke, Cao Feng) On May 25, the 15th Shaanxi College Students Tennis Tournament and "President Cup" Competition, sponsored by Education Department of Shaanxi and organized by Students P.E. Association of Shaanxi Province and Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology, ended in Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology. The competition is divided into college student group competition and "President Cup" doubles competition, and more than 300 people from 21 universitiesand collegesin Shaanxi Province participated in the competition. 13 participating college student athletes from Xidian University are from Xidian tennis club. Under the leadership of Professor Yu Shaoyong as team leader and Teacher Cao Feng as coach, after indomitable struggle, they won the first championship in Shaanxi College Students Tennis Competition for Xidian University.

After 4 days of fierce competition, Xidian tennis team won the best record in history! In the team competition, Xidian women's team was the first in group D to qualify for the next round. In the quarter finals, it temporarily fell behind its old rival Xi'an Siyuan University by 3:5. After that, it saved four match points and made a hard reversal. In the semi-finals, it was defeated by Xi'an University of Science and Technology by 1:2, and finally won the third place in group A of women's team; in the individual events, both Yang Mu and Wu Zihao won the fifth place in the singles.

In the women's doubles, Liu Yuke and Zhang Ling from Xidian University met the strong opponents from Xi'an University of Science and Technology once again in the quarter finals. Under the guidance of Teacher Cao Feng as coach, the two team members adjusted their tactics decisively, successfully saved three match points, and finally won by 7:6. In the following semi-finals and finals, the two cooperated tacitly, summoned up courage and finally won the championship! This is the first tennis champion in the history of Xidian tennis team, creating a historic breakthrough! After the match, Liu Yuke was named the best athlete, and Teacher Cao Feng was named the excellent coach of Shaanxi Province.

The results of this competition are closely related to the concern of school leaders, the strong support of the Sports Department, the vigorous development of tennis club activities and the persistence of the tennis team's hard training all year round, and also inseparable from the fact that the Sports Department has invited a number of off-campus tennis experts to give lectures and exchange views with the tennis teams of peer colleges.
