(Correspondent: Zhan Ge) From November 19 to 22, 2019 Shaanxi University Table Tennis Championship was held in Chang'an University Gymnasium, and 705 student athletes from 45 universities in Shaanxi participated in the competition. The table tennis team of Xidian University fought hard to win 1 gold medal, 1 silver medal, 1 bronze medal and 2 fifth places.
Coach Zhan Ge from Department of Physical Education led table tennis team composed of 15 studentstoparticipate in men's and women's group and individual competitions. After four days of fierce competition, Shao Shuai from School of Electronic Engineering and Su Hang from School of Foreign Languages, stood out from 64 groups and won the mixed doubles championship with excellent skills, strong psychological quality and their tacit cooperation. Xu Yunxiang from School of Electronic Engineering and Yang Zhengqiong from School of Cyber Engineering calmly won six games in a row, but they lost the competition to the defending champion and won the second place in men's doubles. The men's team composed of eight students (Shao Shuai, Xu Yunxiang, Wu Zhe, Yang Zhengqiong, Yang Jiaxi, Jiao Yining, Wang Chunxin and Wang Chenxu) won the first place in the first stage group competition by a landslide, but won the third place of men's group in 45 universities teams at last. The women's team composed of seven students (Su Hang, Bi Liyue, Bian Xinyan, Xie Congsi, Han Xinyi, Zhao Shihui, Qin Mingjuan) won the fifth place in 30 women's teams. Yang Jiaxi from School of Communication Engineering and Wang Chunxin from School of Electronic Engineering won the fifth place in men's doubles, which also won honor for the University.
Believing that hard work pays off, students of Xidian University table tennis delegation make use of their spare time to train hard, and insist on participating in all kinds of competitions to accumulate experience and hone skills, striking a balance between study and training. They will continue to keep the balance of study and training, and achieve better results in the future competition for the University!
