(Correspondent: Dong Yingchu) The 4th Undergraduate Education and Teaching Festival of Xidian University opened at 2:30 p.m., November 19. Department of Physical Education (hereinafter referred to as the Department) set up a branch venue to hold the opening ceremony in Invengo Gymnasium. All teachers attended the opening ceremony by online videoconferencing.
It is learned that Xidian University will hold the 4th Undergraduate Education and Teaching Festival themed by “Celebrating the 90th Anniversary of XDU’s Founding and Building XDU into A First-rate University” from November to December so as to deeply study and implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important statements on education, accurately grasp the new situation and new tasks facing the development of higher education, continuously promote the reform of artificial intelligence education and teaching, summarize the excellent experience in education over the past 90 anniversary since its founding, carry forward the theme of strengthening moral education and cultivating people, and consolidate the central position of talent training and the fundamental position of undergraduate education.
At the branch venue for opening ceremony, all teachers of the Department watched and listened to the speech of Principal Yang Zongkai, and understood the importance and necessity of AI education and teaching to contemporary undergraduate education. Teachers of XDU should give full play to the discipline advantages of XDU, learn advanced teaching concepts and methods concerning AI, and empower teaching with AI.
From November to December, the Department will focus on Sub-forum 4 themed by “Integration and innovation - diversified teaching of humanities and social sciences from the perspective of new liberal arts”, center on the special report on university PE work ideas from the perspective of “integration of PE and education”, explore the characteristics of red PE during Yan’an period, make discussions on the writing and production of teaching plans of Sports Club and teaching setup and reform of PE courses, and open a typical demonstration class themed by “Flipped classroom integrates constructivist basketball teaching method”.
